Going backwards in time ... the de-evolution of man - 1

Recently read a couple of books that really changed the way I look at civilizations and cultures. I realized what it is that I value the most and how, unknowingly, we are sinking into a quagmire that we can probably not come out of.

The books in question are "Nutrition and physical degeneration" by Dr. Weston A. Price, and "The wheel of health" by G.T.Wrench. Both books are awesome and really give an idea what man, at the highest state of health, can feel like.

It's sad that in our pursuit of the development of science and technology, we are pushing Nature to the brink of collapse. Western science takes great pride in proving that man can do what nature can (cloning, for eg., GMO etc.), however, everything in nature fits into a whole. It's an intricately balanced eco-system. So when man plays with it, he upsets the balance that affects other species - both plants and animals. Ultimately, it hits right back at man.

Man, like every species on this planet, was designed to live in accordance with nature. And this means eating foods that are natural and whole, living a lifestyle that is in harmony with the way his body is built. When man respects and follows this principle, he is blessed with health, both physical and mental. When he strays from this path, suffering follows, again both mental and physical.

Dr. Price's book is a first-rate travelogue and a superb cultural and anthropological study. It is so meticulously documented, and so thorough in it's research, that, after reading this book, I have fully realized why, despite all the advances in medicine, nutrition, genetic research etc., we are ever increasingly plagued by disease, degeneration, and ill health.

The most chilling realization of all is the very real possibility that pre-natal "germ plasm disruptions" - coming from parents who lack the proper means of health through nutrition to create ideal offspring - may be taking place in epidemic numbers. What this is tantamount to is the actual de-evolution of the human race. That is, destroying nature by countermanding through our modern foods.

This book really is an epic. It debunks so many of the health fads being propagated today.

Science must co-exist with nature. Science must support nature, not duplicate it.

As Dr. Price says, "Life in fullness is Mother Nature obeyed".

To those of you who are interested in the book, it can be purchased here: http://www.amazon.com/Nutrition-Physical-Degeneration-Weston-Price/dp/0916764206/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

My next post is a review of "The wheel of health" by G.T.Wrench.
